The Accra Children’s Book Festival (ACBF) is Ghana’s first children’s book festival dedicated to nurturing the next generation of global leaders.
The ACBF brings books to life for book lovers of all ages from pre-school to teenagers.
It is organised by the Accra International Book Festival – a non-profit charitable organisation established to foster a love of books, reading and writing among Ghanaians of all backgrounds and ages.
The ACBF offers young bookworms the opportunity to interact with their favourite authors, learn writing and illustrating skills at a workshop or take part in debates.
ACBF MISSION & VISION
At the Accra Children’s Book Festival (ACBF), we believe that a reading child is a leading child.
That is why we have designed many exciting programmes aimed at bolstering the reading culture of the children across Ghana. It is one of the reasons why the ACBF is free for every Ghanaian child.
Our vision is that ACBF will grow into the largest children’s book festival in Africa by building a new generation of readers.
Our focus is to donate thousands of books each year to deprived schools, establish libraries at juvenile detention centres, provide programming for children with special needs, produce an annual mural project and operate a mobile library van for school visitations.
The Accra Child Fest is more than an annual festival for children. It is a gathering of Ghana and Africa’s next decision makers.
