The Accra International Book Festival welcomes over 1000 authors and book lovers to the heart of Ghana to celebrate and promote literature and reading.
Currently, the largest public celebration of the written word in Africa, the Festival features a wide range of informative workshops, lively author events, book fair and rousing debates aim to inspire and educate as well as offer Ghanaians the opportunity to discuss the hot topics of the day.
It takes place at the serene Efua Sutherland Children’s Park close to the National Theatre in Accra. The event is participated by novelists, scientists, philosophers, illustrators, historians, musicians, biographers, environmentalists, economists and poets among others.
The inaugural event is anchored on the theme, Discover: to energise the reading public with quality and affordable books.
